UWSAG talks to Crystal Tunstall
of Virginia Bass Fishing Awards
Owner: Virginia
Bass Fishing Awards which holds a UWSAG
Alpha Rating
Winner: UWSAG Top Ten!
for November, 2003
- What got you started in website design?
"I had a strong interest in what goes in to creating
a website. I also wanted to provide an informative place for
Virginia Anglers to find local information. Creating a website
was all new to me when I started and I have learned a lot since
the beginning. I have had so many great supporters to help me
in creating this site."
- What do you hope to accomplish with your award program?
"I try to recognize the webmasters that have obviously
put a lot of thought and hard work into the creation of there
sites. I look for sites that are creative and show a part of
the person who created them, those that are geared toward the
family. I want these family friendly sites to be recognized
and awarded for there content."
- What advice would you give to those new to award programs?
"I would tell them not to give up even if they do not
win an award at first or get accepted into a program. I feel
that most award programs will give good advice as what they
need to do to run an award program or as to why they did not
receive the award; the advice is not given to down the site
but to give them an idea of what is needed to improve there
site and become better. There is always room for improvement,
even on the best of sites"
- What was the biggest problem you faced with your award
program?
"Getting my name out and becoming a respected award
giver."
- If you had to do it all over again, what would you do
differently?
"To be honest, nothing, I have enjoyed the experience,
even though I have made mistakes and have had to make changes.
I know I will always find new ways to improve my site."
- What plans do you have for the future?
"I plan on continuing my site and awards program, and
soon will be getting my own domain and server."
- What else do you like to do?
"Well, I love to fish. My home lives fishing, we fish
tournaments and for fun. I am proud to say I am a female truck
driver, and love my trucks. I have a strong interest in Pit
Bulls and improving there reputation as loving family dogs instead
of killers. I currently have a Pit Bull that is my baby."
