UWSAG talks to Serena Steventon
of Whitefeather's Web Awards
Owner: Whitefeather's Web Awards rated 3.0
with UWSAG
Winner: UWSAG Award Seekers Pick!
for August, 2003
- What got you started in website design?
"I began my web experience 4 years ago in 1999. I started
on my journey as a website developer with automatic web builder
sites like Geocities and AOL Homepage Editor. After tiring of
not being able to have much, if any, flexibility with these
types of programs, I decided to broaden my knowledge horizon.
I began self teaching myself html through free classes and tutorials
on the web."
- What do you hope to accomplish with your award program?
"I hope I am able to provide a worthy award program
whose primary focus is to reward and recognize those web owners
who have given hard work & excellence to the internet community
through their websites."
- What advice would you give other program owners?
"Realize the responsibility involved in running a web
awards program, stay objective, fair & honest in your evaluations
through the criteria you set forth for your awards program."
- What was the biggest problem you faced with your award
program?
"Not being able to award sites because they failed to
meet with all of my criteria yet they had worked hard on their
website and it showed."
- If you had to do it all over again, what would you do
differently?
"Nothing, I have learned by my mistakes along the way
and it has been a truly rewarding and educational experience
running an award program."
- What plans do you have for the future?
"Spending time with my family & friends, enjoying
life & all it has to offer."
- What else do you like to do?
"I love genealogy, Civil War history, reading, &
of course my computer."
