UWSAG talks to Tara Gann
of Brujah Haven Awards
Owner: Brujah
Haven
Winner: UWSAG Top Ten! for
April, 2003 - August,
2003
Winner: UWSAG Award Seekers Pick!
for April, 2003 - June, 2003
- What got you started in website design?
"Believe it or not, this started out from being a member
of a Virtual Places chat realm. We needed pages for information
on our club so a few of us started putting stuff up using the
free servers. It just grew from there."
- What do you hope to accomplish with your award program?
"Mostly, I just want to give something back to the Awards
Community. Earning and giving awards is just plain fun, but
can also be a lot of work."
- What advice would you give other program owners?
"Don’t rush. Take your time and know what you
want before you get started. The Awards Community can be a real
jungle…lol, so look, listen and learn before you take
the plunge."
- What was the biggest problem you faced with your award
program?
"Developing the criteria. Coming up with clearly defined,
understandable and fair criteria takes lots of time and hard
work."
- If you had to do it all over again, what would you do
differently?
"Follow the advice I gave earlier to new program owners…lol.
My original program was VERY amateurish; it wasn’t a ‘gimme’
award, but the evaluation was strictly based on my personal
opinion."
- What plans do you have for the future?
"Brujah Haven is undergoing a major reconstruction.
Within the next few weeks/months we will be transitioning to
Kindred Kreations. New domain, new layout, new content, the
works."
- What else do you like to do?
"LOL, shouldn’t that be self-explanatory."
